This involves you taking a step back from the content you already have out there and asking the questions “whats big at the moment?, what are people talking about and how does my product relate to that ?” It might be that there are topical events that are happening right now that you can use by riding on the wave of interest and pushing traffic to your target landing page.  A good example is the “world cup anxiety” story that you can see a few blog posts ago.  You cant get away from the world cup at the moment the story is huge, the excitement is constant and is only going to increase now into the competition so use it to your advantage.

The question is how to get the word out about your products or services to the people who need them. One of the quickest and most efficient ways, that has a reputation for getting the most eyeballs on your website and quickly generating new business is to use short videos like the one below.

If you’re not convinced that video can help your business, consider the viral marketing success of the incredibly successful  “Will It Blend?” videos created by Tom Dickson, founder of Blendtec. The videos became an overnight sensation on YouTube, and according to some sources, sales increased by 600 percent and subsequent hits to the Will It Blend website surpassed all expectations, which is a massive return for spending only a few minutes in front of a video camera and a little editing effort.

I had a 90 minute social media strategy meeting with a great guy called Andy Piper from a company called prosperityinvestments.co.uk They sell investment opportunities in exotic location property.  I had no idea this kind of investment opportunity existed so it was very interesting talking through his business in detail. Andy had originally made contact with me after seeing myself and Ian Mckendrick  deliver a presentation to around 100 business delegates at the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce in February 2010.

As we were talking through the various parts of his business I began to create ideas and mini campaigns in my mind that he would be able to take away and use straight away in getting his social media campaign underway.  Its really early days for Andy in terms of getting social media working for him as he is busy establishing his company, Im hopefull that one day if enough people allow me to share my ideas for their business I might be able to buy one of those beachside villa’s that Andy is selling!

Ithink it may be a while yet though! anyway, thanks to Andy for writing some genuinely appreciated words about what was a worthwhile afternoon’s work for both parties.

Cambridge Hypnotherapist Luca Senatore has been inundated with requests to help clients overcome what seems to be a brand new phobia.  dubbed “ World Cup Anxiety “ the new phobia appears to be increasing at an alarming rate with requests for support coming from all over the UK.  Symptoms of “world cup anxiety” include  

• Lack of concentration at work in the 24 hour period preceding a big game
• A slightly increased resting heart rate for the period of the tournament

I am very excited about the forthcoming training and presentation projects that will be giving you an insight into the world of storybranding© and its impossible to go into the detail here as there is a lot that I dont want to give away in the public arena.  However let me tease you with 3 areas in which storybranding© has a huge effect on social media response.

1 – Pro-active and Re-active campaigns. Its a fantastic way to cut through the background sweat and noise that increasingly clutters the marketplace.

In the year 2000 the Eagle Radio station launched in Cambridge. Broadcasting on 107.9 it was the previous incarnation of my Radio station Star Radio.  The first song that was played on that day was Stephen Gately and New Beginning which was his brand new single.  An interview was done by one of our sister stations with Stephen and the audio you can hear here was of course never broadcast as it was the chat leading up to us using his song to launch the station.
