			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just a quick post to highlight a nice bit of work by one of my Radio Station&#8217;s Clients &#8211; Ernest Doe.  It always frustrates me in Radio that the vast majority of radio buyers wont co-ordinate any other promotional or marketing activity to bolster their campaign, the multiplier effect can add serious traction to any campaign without having to add in extra cost.</p>
<p>Put simply the multiplier effect is achieved by coordinating several different campaigns to run together across different types of media or communication.  Radio and online advertising is growing fast and has been highly effective for some time.</p>
<p>Ernest Doe decided to go all out on the multiplier effect with radio, press and some physical outdoor activity all of which was kept to the minimum cost but the effect of which created a noise which was far higher than the spending power of the budget they had and even created some viral traction as stories appeared in the local press.</p>
<p>The video below shows the external activity that Ernest Doe organised to co-incide with the running of the radio commercial that you can hear in the video.  You can imagine the interest the Aliens created as people drove past.  Brilliant fun and actually an excellent way to maximise the promotional activity they engaged in with their radio campaign!</p>

The News of the World exploited the fact that, on most networks, if you have never set up a pin number the default is normally something very simple. </p>
<p>That meant journalists were able to access other people&#8217;s messages from any phone they wanted.<br />
To give you added protection you can go to your voicemail options and change the settings or phone your operator and ask them to do it for you. </p>
<p>Don&#8217;t go for anything obvious, like the year you were born or 1234. If you can, choose a long string of numbers that you are able to memorise. </p>
<p><strong>Network by Network Guide </strong></p>
<p><strong>T-Mobile</strong> -Dial 222 and then hit 1 to enter a pin. You will already have had to make at least one call on pay-as-you-go in order to have voicemail set up. </p>
<p><strong>O2</strong> &#8211; Dial 901 for voicemail then press * to interrupt the menu. Select 4 and follow the prompts. </p>
<p><strong>Orange</strong> &#8211; Call 123 from your phone for voicemail then follow the prompts to go into settings. Orange lets you have a pin between four and ten digits long. The longer the more secure you will be. </p>
<p><strong>Three</strong> &#8211; When you dial 123 to set up voicemail you will have been asked to enter a pin. To change it, call 123 again, enter your old PIN and follow the instructions. You can have a pin up to eight digits. </p>
<p><strong>Vodafone</strong> &#8211; Call 121 and, at the prompt, press 4 then 2. To change it dial 121, press 4, 2 and 2. You will need to enter your old pin to create a new one. Entering the wrong pin three times will lock your voicemail. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of the dangers of using too much automation in your social media strategy is the risk of just becoming stagnant and falling into the background &#8220;noise&#8221;.  You have to understand that there is no real easy ride when it comes to managing a social media strategy effectively as the whole thing revolves around the generation of good quality content, hence the need for a regular reset.</p>
<p>This involves you taking a step back from the content you already have out there and asking the questions &#8220;whats big at the moment?, what are people talking about and how does my product relate to that ?&#8221; It might be that there are topical events that are happening right now that you can use by riding on the wave of interest and pushing traffic to your target landing page.  A good example is the &#8220;world cup anxiety&#8221; story that you can see a few blog posts ago.  You cant get away from the world cup at the moment the story is huge, the excitement is constant and is only going to increase now into the competition so use it to your advantage.</p>

<p>The question is how to get the word out about your products or services to the people who need them. One of the quickest and most efficient ways, that has a reputation for getting the most eyeballs on your website and quickly generating new business is to use short videos like the one below.</p>
<p>If you’re not convinced that video can help your business, consider the viral marketing success of the incredibly successful  “<a id="aptureLink_GLqrGHW3kh" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qg1ckCkm8YI">Will It Blend</a>?” videos created by <a id="aptureLink_OGdO5eKtzz" href="http://www.iphonebuzz.com/gallery/files/5/2/2/Will_it_blend_eBay_iPhone_1.jpg">Tom Dickson</a>, founder of <a id="aptureLink_JVuoyVHpak" href="http://www.blendtec.com/">Blendtec</a>. <p>I had a 90 minute social media strategy meeting with a great guy called Andy Piper from a company called <a id="aptureLink_7cfnnQWDTn" href="http://www.prosperityinvestments.co.uk/">prosperityinvestments.co.uk</a> They sell investment opportunities in exotic location property.  I had no idea this kind of investment opportunity existed so it was very interesting talking through his business in detail. Andy had originally made contact with me after seeing myself and <a id="aptureLink_DpAuKPxSpD" href="http://www.ianmckendrick.com/">Ian Mckendrick </a> deliver a presentation to around 100 business delegates at the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce in February 2010.</p>
<p>As we were talking through the various parts of his business I began to create ideas and mini campaigns in my mind that he would be able to take away and use straight away in getting his social media campaign underway.  Its really early days for Andy in terms of getting social media working for him as he is busy establishing his company, Im hopefull that one day if enough people allow me to share my ideas for their business I might be able to buy one of those beachside villa&#8217;s that Andy is selling!</p>
<p>Ithink it may be a while yet though! anyway, thanks to Andy for writing some genuinely appreciated words about what was a worthwhile afternoon&#8217;s work for both parties.</p>
<p><strong>&#8220;How much information can you soak up in 90 minutes ?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Well that’s all the time that I spent in the company of the hugely creative and brilliant mind behind Mark Peters but I went away with my mind buzzing with creative ideas for taking the message of my business “viral”.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Mark has this amazing ability to see what others (of the less intuitively creative type) like myself just don’t see, and when this is combined with his considerable experience in the business world it makes for a marketing force to be reckoned with ! </strong></p>

<p>Cambridge UK 8th April 2010</p>
<p>Cambridge Hypnotherapist Luca Senatore has been inundated with requests to help clients overcome what seems to be a brand new phobia.  dubbed “ World Cup Anxiety “ the new phobia appears to <strong>be increasing at an alarming rate</strong> with requests for support coming from all over the UK.  Symptoms of “world cup anxiety” include  </p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Lack of concentration at work in the 24 hour period preceding a big game </strong></li>
<li><strong>A slightly increased resting heart rate for the period of the tournament </strong></li>
<li><strong>Heightened emotional state and an impaired ability to deal rationally with common crisis</strong></li>
<li><strong>Implications of the above symptoms can lead to further complications including problems with relationships and communication within the workplace or home</strong></li>
</ul>
<p> Commenting on the <strong>alarming increase</strong> in the new phobia Luca Senatore, who specialises in weight related issues and phobias, commented “What we are seeing now is a phenomenon that has been manifesting itself in the minds of football fans for decades, it now appears to have built up strength almost like a <strong>pseudo virus</strong> to the point at which people are experiencing <strong>physical symptoms</strong>.  The appearance of a new phobia is always fascinating as each case I am seeing at the moment is also a different variation of the problem”</p>
<p>Mr Senatore and his Cambridge based Hypnotherapy practice have launched a tailor made phobia package aimed at solving these issues for any fan that feels they might be suffering already from world cup anxiety, “ It will normally only take me a couple of hours to achieve a complete cure of world cup anxiety in my clients, after treatment my clients would be able to <strong>sit through a world cup final penalty shootout between England and Brazil without a noticeable rise in heart BPM throughout</strong> “</p>

<p>I am very excited about the forthcoming training and presentation projects that will be giving you an insight into the world of storybranding© and its impossible to go into the detail here as there is a lot that I dont want to give away in the public arena.  However let me tease you with 3 areas in which storybranding© has a huge effect on social media response.</p>
<p><strong>1 &#8211; Pro-active and Re-active campaigns</strong>. Its a fantastic way to cut through the background sweat and noise that increasingly clutters the marketplace.</p>
<p><strong>2 &#8211; Consistent and continual content.</strong> It means that your brand not only stands out but it also creates your brand image in the viewers/readers minds more quickly.</p>
